I’ve been working on musicglob little by little the past few weeks. I’m pretty close to relaunching back into everything. For now I want to go through hopefully all my email before I go live with the new version of the site.
One of the new features of musicglob is I have created a sort-of “news wire” for myself. It is aptly named “the musicglob wire” and is over at wire.musicglob.com In the new version of the site I have a section in the sidebar that displays a list of the latest posts on the wire and links to them. This was all made possible via the Simplepie wordpress plugin that allows me to pull any RSS feeds and display based on templates. I thought about keeping “the wire” in my main weblog and just display it as a category… yet I decided to keep things organized and setup another Wordpress installation for the wire. That way if that space expands, it has room to grow without screwing up any of my other musicglob stuff.
I still have lots of ideas of a direction for musicglob… only time is the factor at this point.
I purchased vinely.com to use for a “web 2.0″ domain name for a cool app. Something that brings all your “vines” aka your twitter, blog posts, other RSS feeds, facebook, myspace, etc etc into one place. I kinda abandoned the idea because I have no time or know-how right now to do that kind of thing. Plus it’s already being done by larger companies that will hopefully do a far better job than my grand scheme of things.
So instead I’m using vinely.com as my own “web vine” of sorts. Right now it’s more of a tumblog / twitter / instant update blog than anything. I’ll be testing social web applications that are open source and maybe come up with something cool that a few people will like. Either way I’ll be learning stuff and that is what’s really important when you work within teh internets. There’s lots of free apps and API’s out there to do cool stuff with so when I find the time, maybe something will happen.
Until then, vinely is my web vine.
Hello 2008 and welcome to my blog! I haven’t done anything here in quite some time so a redesign and other things are in order deeming I have open time.
For now I grabbed the Gotham Nights theme and applied to the site while I come up with something on my own.
In response to my “need new” post I half did this design. It’s not really a redesign per-se, it’s more of a realign. There is a bunch of stuff that still needs to be done, but hey this is a start so far.
I decided that a blog such as this is so much more than just a “blog.” Some of these things are obvious, some are not. Here is my thoughts for today on what my blog is, and what I’m going to change.
1. A PERSONAL website
This is my personal blog, thus I write about things I like on any topic I pretty much choose. Basically I concentrate on a few things: college life (going out, parties, etc), technology, the internet, film, and music. (Which I do most of my music talk over at MusicGlob.com) Sometimes I talk about media design and stuff like that, but it’s not really something I have many profound things to say about… I’m still learning design, and living it.
2. Though personal still professional
This is a website I have created, I should showcase some of my talents of design and photography here. I do post up alot of photos, but for that last while I have ditched designs and not put a whole lot of effort into this blog. I’ve decided this site should show what I can do. I realized that while browsing many other blogs, I’ll keep the link around mainly if I like the design or not. Even if I don’t read the content. I figure most people like looking at something pretty, so I should probably make something pretty.
What am I going to change?
With all that said, it’s time to redesign and get back to super blogging like I usually do. I’ve set a time span to finish a new design for this blog by Friday 5/5/06. On the not so public internet side of things, I’m going to get back into taking a bunch of pictures… even crap pictures just to take them and open up my eyes to the world again. I’m also delving into actually learning PHP/MySQL and a bunch of other web technologies that I should have down by now.
In Closing
With all that said in one of the longest blog entries in awhile, it’s time for a change.
I’ve known about Upcoming.org for a long long time… yet never really had any use for it. Till now, and it’s the coolest thing ever. So I decided to throw a “badge” in the sidebar so you know what’s up, and all the really cool things I’ll be going to.
Get your own and be my friend! ..? haha
MusicGlob.com has been a little project of mine for the last month or so. I had been thinking about starting a music weblog for a long time and finally threw myself into it, and I love every bit of it. It’s basically a blog about music I like, and also up and coming music. This “blog” will stay a “blog” for awhile yet I have more plans to make it more useful. Finding new music and blogging is quite the awesome team.
Check it out if you like new music, or even old music. Maybe you’ll find something you’ll like. Don’t forget to pass this on too.
So I finished up my summer quarter last week. Which equals I decided to take some time off of one job to spend some time in San Diego and enjoy my hometown. Yet now that I have a few weeks of summer, there are a few things that I have been really wanting to knock out.
Most of these projects I can’t really talk about as of now, except for the one about this blog. I have secured a move over to ConstructLog.com which I am really happy about. It is really long over due to dedicate a domain name to this blog. There for I urge you to change your bookmarks. Soon I’ll change the design of this page and force you to go to the new blog home, but not right this instant.
Keep on reading, there is lots to come!
New weblog URL: www.ConstructLog.com
Vimeo is a new awesome service made by the guys over at Connected Ventures. They have made things like Collegehumor.com, Busted Tees, Defunker, and a myriad of other things. I really like Vimeo because it is basically Flickr for video.
I had been waiting for months to see when it was open for sign up, and I found out when I checked today that it was open. I don’t know how long it has been open, but I am happy to have my account.
Head on over to my profile page to see my clips and stuff.
Almost today one year ago (ok so it’s the 9th, yea so?) I started this weblog. I have actually been blogging probably another 6 months to a year before that, but it was all lost unfortunately.
