PodCasting

“PodCasting” as it has been named is basically just an evolved version of the basic idea of radio, yet it mixes the internet, audio, and any form of portable audio player into one.

It’s pretty much a new up and coming and current trend for anybody and everybody who wants it. From what I know, here is how it works, I think in this order:
1)Someone creates a podcast, in essence it is a mini personal radio show. A person records themself, and then makes it availble for download.
2)The creator can make the podcast available on sites like podcast.net and ipodder.org where people can subscribe or “tune in” and download the podcast to their portable audio player, which is done automatically with software like iPodder which downloads the latest podcasts you have subscribed to.
3)Enjoy the podcast wherever they want to listen!

Yes, this is a really simplified version of the list. It’s not super easy to get into it, yet will be in the near future. Especially with companies like Odeo starting up.

There are so many websites that already have info on the topic that a simple google search will give you a bunch of results. Look out for it.

I don’t have money to drop on one of those super cool robots, so I just bought one of the Ghosty’s. This is one of the coolest ideas I have seen yet. It was started by 3 college freshmen, I’m sure they’ll be busy these days. HAHA.

It’s 3 am and I’m up and I really shouldn’t be. I don’t really know why I’m up, maybe just because I lost track of time. Tomorrow I have a midterm that I was studying all day for, and I have that at 10:30am. I’m sure it will go pretty well.

This weekend was actually quite awesome. Hung out with a bunch of friends on Thursday night here at my suite. Then on Friday Angela, Anthony and I went out to see a play on campus. It was actually a really good play, alot better than I expected. It was a small theatre of about 30 people, and only three actors the whole time. Nonetheless it was a pretty intense and good play, too bad I can’t remember the name of it right now. Before the play, we went to my favorite mexican food place here in Pomona by the name of El Patio. I introduced it to Anthony and Angela, and as expected, they love the food. That was the frist time of two that we went there that night. We went after the play too! Then we were just hanging around my suite for the remainder of the night.

On to Saturday, slept in, then watched the movie Gataca. It is quite a good movie and my school is his house in the film. Pretty awesome to blatently see something in a movie that I see everyday. On to Saturday night. Angela and I went to our friend Randy’s show in Aszuza, more sepcifically Smart City Grinds They played a good show and after their band, Mornington, The Last American Bufalo went on and I really enjoyed them. Then back to my suite where Angela and I hung out and chatted for a little bit before ending the night because we both had finals to study for the next day. Which brings us to Sunday. I studied all day for my Principles of Geology midterm, and I feel like I am pretty ready. The last one wasn’t too hard so I think this one will be about the same. Sunday was a day of studying and Halo and just sitting around. I did accompany Anthony for dinner at the commons which was nice because I hadn’t been there in a long while.

So that brings us to Monday, or rather, today. A day filled with class, and most likely rain here at Cal Poly Pomona. Good day to all of you!

Everybody, if you are into weblogging and can install your own system, I would HIGHLY recommend WordPress 1.5

For a bunch of reasons I would recommend it, yet most of them you can read on the WordPress website. There are lots of new features in version 1.5. One that I am extremely happy and stoked about is the Theme System. I was just able to make my design a theme in a matter of about 5 minutes. It was so easy. Granted there is alot more I can do and will do, nonetheless it makes it easy to release new designs and switch things up really easy.

Anyways, I’m just getting into figuring out how to use all the new features, so this site is a work in progress at the moment.

This is my new toy, a brand new Palm Zire 72s. The “s” stands for silver and special! It is usually blue, yet I was able to pic up the cool edition. To say the least, it is awesome. I’ve been able to setup the bluetooth so that I can web browse on it. I’ve also taken photos with it and listened to music and taken notes, and well, organized my life per se.

The screen is beautiful and it is so light to pick up. The external speaker is super loud and the internal mic for audio notes and video capture is really good. In fact, here are some photos, I’ll give you video later.

Click this link to see my first palm photo on the internet on flickr.com

Well I just absolutely love it, and it’s awesome.

p.s. Flickr switched up their layout and stuff. I really like it! All the more reason for you to use flickr if you feel like sharing photos on the interent.
