I didn’t get to go to MacWorld, or I don’t even own a Mac, yet they do have some pretty cool things going on. Currently I’m watching the Streaming Keynote of Steve Jobs.

The thing is, everytime I look at Mac stuff, I kinda want one. Yes I’m one of those hardcore PC users aswell as Linux, yet Macs are so good looking.

symbolic cemetary

We all walk through our symbolic cemetaries.
Passing each etched stone remembering the past.
Swallowing our tears row by row.
We fight the battle of our impulses.
Loosing grip, slipping to our knees as we pass the name.
What is in that name, a dream, a hope, a life.

Listen to the drops hit the stone.
Glistening sunlight reflects off the slow falling mist.
A soothing rain in this symbolic cemetary.
Off dark and light, gray clouds and blue sky.
Grief or joy, you remember the lost past.
Only to look up from the stone, to the path out.

Just something I had been working on this week. It’s been raining so much, and on my drive from San Diego to Pomona yesterday symbolic cemetary popped into my head. It is so meaningful on so many levels. So I put a little something together. Comments your throughts are appreciated.

Muse Absolution

Muse : Absolution

I just started listening to Muse a bit of time ago, and I really like them. It is a unique sound that is exceptionally awesome, especially when it comes to songs with the piano in it. The band has released a few cd’s and from what I have heard between Absolution and Showbiz they makes some awesome music. The lead singers voice flows melodically with the relatively hard rock combined with meaningful lyrics create an awesome album and band.

Some of my favorites from this album would be “Time is running out,” “Stockholm Syndrome,” and a others. As for myself, there really isn’t a bad song on the album.

My Rating: 8 of 10

A few site things

I just wanted to mention a few site things that I have finally been able to fix and/or add.

For one, the all important search bar up there in the top right. I love search bars. They are the most usable thing on websites in my mind. It’s especially handy for me.

The “Recent Links” in the sidebar there. I’ve been looking into way to put my del.icio.us links on my site. Finally after checking out the WordPress Wiki and finding out the plugins section was updated, I was able to easily implement it. Now you readers will have some more stuff to browse around on the internet.

Fixed the comment template look aswell as the archives page. Certain things weren’t showing up at all, so I finally fixed them up so they are there.

I added some more resources to the about page that may be handy to you.

I’ve also been thinking recently about redesigning, yet I still really like this design, so I’ll probably just keep on tinkering with it till it’s at a place that I am really happy with.

Six Apart to buy livejournal?

Here is the official releases by Six Apart: read six apart log post

This info of a merger is definately a little stunning. I don’t exactly know if it is true by any means. If any of you don’t know, Six Apart is the company behind the Movable Type system and TypePad. I have not used TypePad, yet I am using Movable Type over at my portoflio site, constructds.com. LiveJournal is one of the larger free weblog projects much like Blogger or xanga or any of the other many free weblog services out there.

Back to my topic, the article is over at om malik on broadband. Check it out, it has a little bit of information in it. Here is another article on eweek.com

By the way, here are some of my free weblog accounts. They are all hardly ever updated, sorry!
dan.adion44.com powered by Blogger
photodan.blogspot.com powered by Blooger
livejournal.com/users/facture powered by livejournal

I also have a few other random free accounts spread all over the place just testing things out. From the get go of my blogging, I have installed my own system on my own web host that I pay for. I started with pMachine and now I am using WordPress. I don’t think I will ever leave WordPress mainly because I have become so used to it. It has it’s limitations right now compared to Movable Type, yet it is getting better and better everyday. One thing that I really don’t like about Movable Type is that you have to “rebuild” your site in order to make changes and add posts and things. It’s hard to explain, I guess you would just have to use it to know.(Anil Dash Let me know in the comments that I don’t have to rebuild the site everytime. I really need to learn more now. Thanks Anil!)

Wow, this was going to be a short post, yet it has now turned into a sort of my thoughts on weblog systems. What can I say, they are pretty cool. Maybe I’ll do a rundown of the main weblog systems that are out there sometime.

01-03-05 sky

This is the sky today. It’s been off and on raining and generally cold. Very unlike southern california winter. Usually it is sunny and like 80 degrees. All well.

I’ve decided to try and take more photos of the sky… maybe like a once a day thing. I don’t know we’ll see. I also have some thoughts about designing lately, and I wish I had some money to start up my clothing company. I just need to sell my car. If anybody knows of or wants a 1991 BMW 318i 5-speed sedan in red, let me know. I need to sell it.

sd sky

I have now said goodbye to San Diego skies for awhile. Winter break is over and now onto winter quarter school. Moving back in wasn’t too bad considering it’s just a pain overall. By the way Happy New Year to all. I hope you had a good holiday, yet back to work and school on Monday!

Check out some more San Diego sky photos I took on Flickr!
