Attack of the comment spam!

Over the past 8 hours I have now accumulated about 113 spam comments for online poker and all that crap. Sorry it if bugs you, I’ll be getting rid of them and trying to find a solution to killing it.

It’s also kinda cool cause now I feel like the internet actually knows about this weblog. I get about 600 unique visitors per month which is pretty cool, yet along with that comes the blasted comment spam bots.

*Update 12-28-04
I modified my settings in this here Wordpress 1.2 and it is working so far by adding in the “typical spam words” as well as adding some more moderation to the comments. I’ll also be installing spam stopgap extreme in a bit to see how that works.

By the way, don’t be afraid to comment now. I’m just protecting agains bots and code that reaks havok to my comments, not people. :)

Donnie Darko Director's Cut

I just finished watching the movie Donnie Darko, and I must say it is one of the best films I have watched recently. The story is absolutely amazing to me for one reason. It makes you think. I havn’t watched a movie in awhile that I’m still thinking about over 15 minutes that is has been over.

The effects are awesome, the characters were perfect, the music was astounding, and the setting and scenes were phenomenal. Can’t you tell I liked it? It’s one of those perfect stories and endings that you don’t like, yet it is the best ending. To tell you the truth, I don’t really know what to write about it because there is so much to get. This was just my first time watching it and I wouldn’t be surprised if I watch it again this week. For now, if you have seen the film, check out this website for a bunch of added information.

My Rating : 9 of 10

new flatscreen

This was a present to myself. I was given enough cash to put towards a flat screen which I have wanted for so long. This way I will have alot more space on my desk at school.

The details are this: It’s an Envision 17 inch with 450:1 brightness ratio, 1280×1024 @ 60khz and .264 mm dot pitch. Really good for only $190.00. Hooray!

bandwidth graph

I never thought that I would be able to do it, yet I have. I have reached my 16 gb bandwidth limit on my host. The graph above has my two largest consumers of bandwidth. This weblog, and my sincity.adion44.com | fan site That site takes up so much bandwidth because for the last couple months I have been hosting a comicon trailer for the movie that couldn’t be found anywhere else. Yet now I have taken that movie down and linked up to the official trailer on apple.com.

I was absolutely shocked to get the message “Bandwidth limit exceeded” when I tryed to log on last night. I’m sorry if you got the same message. Everything should be alright for now.

It was good fun this evening. Sitting around a fire in my back yard smoking the hookah. Lots of fun. Now off to way early traditional breakfast at my dad’s work and then off to do a little work myself, then on with the festivities!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

This is a little late for the holiday shopping season, yet I thought it would be helpful to create and online shopping portal to popular and cool shopping sites. Thus I introduce to you the (beta) version of the shopping portal (constructds.com/amazon)

If you do online shopping this little portal site that I have thrown together will give you quick acess to Amazon.com and PosterDome.com. (posters and t-shirts) Go ahead and use this for all your Amazon and related shopping needs. It supports my poor college life.
