The latest Lost Prophets album - “Start Something” is pretty sweet. It’s a change from their previous album, yet a good change in my minds eye. Some may say it’s not as hard as the fake sound of progress yet this cd has some great tracks. Take for instance the hit single “Last Train Home.” Everybody likes that song including myself, yet there is lots more where that came from. For example “Make a Move,” “Burn Burn,” “Hello again” and “To hell we ride” are all good ones. Speaking for myself, this cd is one that I can listen to every track all the way through. Whereas in the Fake sound of progress I find myself skipping only to songs that I like.
Their overall style is cool. The drummer plays exceptionally well, and I would venture to say they play some of the best shows out there. I went to a small show at the Glass House in Pomona which is a small venue, but the show freaking rocked. My favorite part was before they played the last song (Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja) which rocks. The lead singer Ian Watkins separated the crowd into 2 sides into what he called “walls of death.” (no intention of getting people hurt, he made sure of that) He then said, when the song starts (in his welshman accent) run as fast as you can to the other side. So everybody was like “yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!” and thus the crowd burst into a huge mosh pit. That was awesome. Seeing them play made me like them way more than I did before hand.
Back to the review. It’s a good cd if you are into rock. Go over to amazon.com and pick up the cd and listen to some song clips.
