The Killers debut cd Hot Fuss came out last month, and I bought it on that exact day. I had first heard their hit single “Somebody Told Me” on the tv’s in my cafeteria at cal poly. I thought to myself, “these guys are awesome!” They are a cool british-like rock band from Las Vegas.
It’s evolution, see. The unique habitat in which our subjects developed, their native characteristics shaped by external factors (in this case Messrs. Morrissey, Bowie, Ocasek, Gallagher, Presley, Smith, Sumner, Corgan, Cocker, Byrne, Lennon, to name but a few…) would go towards creating a band so clearly the product of their environment and yet so perfectly adapted to becoming a truly dominant species in the world of pop.
That was from their bio on their band website. After seeing their awesome video on mtvU, I found their website and started checking out their other music. Needless to say, I wanted more. I was lucky enough to get a free ticket and go with some friends to a show in San Diego the day I got back from school. That was an awesome show. They are the coolest bill rockers ever. That being said, some of their songs you would think they might be dancing around or something, yet they all just chill on stage and play. True rockers in my book. Reminds me of old footage of Robert Plant.
Anyways, back to the cd review. The cd is a mix of catchy rock-ish pop-ish songs with cool synthesizers used by Brandon Flowers(the lead singer). My favorites include, “Jenny was a friend of mine,” “Mr. Brightside,” “Smile Like you Mean it,” “Somebody told me,” “Midnight show,” and well pretty much all 11 songs on the cd. I have listened to this cd many many times a week for the past couple months I’ve had it, including right now. What more can I really say? I really like this cd and would recommend it to anybody out there.

I like it too, and I noticed that you listed the first four songs, then added, ” and well pretty much all 11 songs on the cd.” It’s too difficult to choose a favorite, isn’t it?
